For as long as she can remember, Emily Brooks loved to draw. Inspired by the detail and charm of children's book illustrators like Jan Brett, Emily pursued her dream of creating illustrations that captivate children and adults alike and attended Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) where she received a BFA in Illustration. Emily specializes in Botanical Illustration and is co-founder of The Foliage Library, a pop-up book series about nature. Focusing on details, Emily creates intriguing and complex illustrations on subjects ranging from the serious to the surreal, often involving her love of word-play and humorous scenarios depicting literal representations of phrases with figurative meanings. Emily currently lives in Troy, New York where she works as a freelance illustrator and aspiring pug farmer.
