Vectorized Ink Drawings for SaLune Hair Studio as a visual reference point for their new method of hair cutting – Intuitive Dry Cutting. I worked with the founder of this method to create a series of technical illustrations tailored to the unique process of their new method, which is working with how the hair on a person’s head naturally grows.
To do this I traveled to the Studio, where I spent a few hours watching the owner, Lune, cut a client’s hair. The hair cutting process was slowed down, so that I could listen to Lune describe the process, ask questions, take notes, and take pictures. This experience allowed me to develop a step-by-step summary of the process, and determine which illustrations were needed to highlight the key elements of the method. I worked with Lune to finalize the images and accompanying diagrams into a collection that illustrates the entire process. These are just a few of about 50 drawings.
