Architectural Drawings
All of these illustrations combine two of my favorite grade-school subjects: art and math! Perspective drawings have always been intriguing to me, and fortunately I’ve had a few clients who have wanted illustrations of their buildings!
The first illustration, Verdigris Tea & Chocolate, in Catskill, NY was done in watercolors and colored pencil for their store on the ground floor. The image was formatted for stickers, cards, and other print promo material. Though the business is currently located only in Hudson, it was a lovely project to work on!
Farm at the Landing is an illustration of an old Cistern in Stuyvesant, NY on the property of a new flower farm that is expanding to grow vegetables. Done in pen and ink, with hand-drawn ink elements adjoining the corresponding text to creature a unique look.
The aerial perspective house and barn scene was rendered for a client who had a photograph taken of his childhood home, from a photographer in a low-flying small airplane, but wanted an illustration of how things looked when he was growing up there. I created this image from the aforementioned aerial photograph, along with several other images provided to me. Original watercolor artwork was sent by mail, and a high resolution digital file of the illustration provided via google drive, so that he could make prints for his family.
The last illustration was commissioned as a gift from siblings to their parents, of the house they all called home for 30+ years. Their parents were selling the house in favor of moving to a comfortably smaller home, closer to the rest of their family, and their children wanted to give them an image to remember the place where they made so many happy memories. Drawn in ink and colored pencil, the original was given to the parents, and the siblings a received high resolution file optimized for print.
