Keeping a sketchbook is essential for my busy mind to stay organized; recording little and big ideas alike really helps with the development of an idea. They provide space for less serious drawings, for experiments, and also become a unique record of time from which to reference. On less inspiring days, I can look back and weed through older ideas to find ones that are ready to bloom with a little time and attention. Sometimes I also get very invested in the covers of my sketchbooks, if the surface material allows. Ink, marker, colored pencil, gel pen, and acrylic paint are a few of the mediums that decorate my more elaborate cover designs.
